Assisting Laurel with a house fire on Shockley Rd

On August 9th, while Station 71 Blades was standing by for the Carnival, a severe thunder and lighting storm came through the area. Laurel, Sharptown and Delmar Fire Departments were alerted for a house fire on Shockley Rd. Captain T. Bowden arrived on scene with Utility 14 and advised heavy smoke coming from the house.  Both occupants were out of the house when firefighters arrived. Firefighters put two hand-lines in service from Engine Tanker 71 and put a supply line out to the main road. Units were on scene for just over an hour. Sharptown Assists Hebron with 3 Story Chicken House Fire

On May 8th, 2013, Sharptown Fire Department was alerted to Stand by at Station 5 Hebron while they were fighting a 3 story chicken house fire. While en route  to station 5, Sharptown was diverted to the scene to assist.

Garage Fire in Delmar

On April 2 just after midnight, Wicomico Central alerted Stations 74 Delmar, Station 5 Hebron, and Station 14 Sharptown of a working garage fire on Waller Rd. just outside of Delmar. Command arrived on scene to find a fully involved garage. Crews immediately put 2 hand lines in service and were able to quickly get the fire under control. Firefighters remained on scene for overhaul for about an hour.

Tractor Trailer overturned on Rt313

Just before 7PM on March 13, Wicomico Central alerted Station 14 Sharptown for a overturned tractor trailer on the Sharptown Bypass in the area of Main St. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a feed truck on its side. Crews from Amick came to remove the feed from the trailer and the road, along with crew’s from Carey’s Towing to upright the truck. Crews were on scene until approximately 10PM.

Sharptown assists Delmar with a House Fire

On Feb 1 at 12:50 am, Station 74 Delmar, Station 81 Laurel,  Station 2 Salisbury was alerted for a house fire on State St. Additional units from Station 5 Hebron and Station 6 Parsonsburg. Sharptown was alerted to stand by at Station 74 and was upgraded en-route to the scene to assist with manpower and overhaul.

Sharptown assists Blades at Perdue Agra-Recycle Plant

On January 26 at 18:52 hours Station 71 Blades was alerted for an automatic alarm at Perdue Agra-Recycle Plant. 71 Command  arrived on scene to find heavy smoke coming from the building. A full response was requested from Blades, Seaford, and Laurel. Additional tankers from Sharptown, Bridgeville, and Delmar were requested to assist in the operations.
