MVC w/ Flyout Laurel Rd itao San Domingo Rd

On August 23 at approx 11:45AM. Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown Vol. Fire Dept of a MVC involving a motorcycle. One patient was flown to a nearby hospital by the Delaware State Police Helicopter.

 

Assist Mardela with Brush Fire

On 7-12, just before 4pm, Sharptown was alerted to assist Station 9 Mardela with a brush fire on Riverton Rd. Brush 14 responded with a crew of 4. Firefighters were on scene for approximately 2 hours before returning to the station.

Funeral Detail in Laurel

On July 12, we took the truck to assist with the funeral detail for a great man. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Givens family and all of Laurel Fire Department. RIP Mark Givens 81-31

Sharptown Assists Mardela on Chicken House Fire

Just before 4pm on Jan 16th, Sharptown was alerted to assist Stations 9, 5, 12 with a chicken house fire on E. Hurleys Neck Rd.  Engine Tanker 1402 and Rescue Engine 14 responded. Crews were on scene for approximately 2.5 hours.

Having a busy start to 2018

Sharptown Fire Department is having a busy start to the 2018 year. In the first week we have been alerted to assist Laurel and Mardela on house fires, Eldorado on a natural cover fire, and have had several EMS/Medical Assist calls. We have also been to Seaford and Laurel Fire Departments on Standby. 

Sharptown Assist Laurel with House Fire on Mt. Pleasant Rd.

On December 3, Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown Fire Department to assist Station 81 with a house fire on Mt. Pleasant Rd. Laurel arrived on scene to find a Log Cabin house with fire showing from the front and side of the house. Crews were able to quickly get the fire under control. Other stations on scene were Station 74 Delmar, Station 71 Blades, Station 87 Seaford, Station 5 Hebron and Sussex County EMS.

Assist Laurel with Multiple Outbuildings on Fire

On Nov 30, 2017, Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown to assist Station 81 Laurel with a trailer fire. Laurel Fire Dept. arrived on scene to find multiple outbuildings, including a chicken house on fire. Also on scene was Delmar Station 74, Blades Station 71, and an additional tanker from Station 9 Mardela. Crews worked for approx. an hour to get the fires under control.

Garage Fire into a House

At approximately 11am on November 20, 2017, Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown Vol. Fire Department, along with Mardela Vol. Fire Dept., Hebron Vol. Fire Dept. and Laurel Fire Department for a garage fire on San Domingo Rd. While enroute units were informed that it was a working fire. Engine Tanker 14 arrived on scene to find a garage fully involved with extension into the end of the house. Firefighters pulled two lines and quickly knocked down the fire. The situation was placed under control approximately 13 minutes after firefighters arrived.

Sept 10th Open House and New Engine Housing

The officers and members of the Sharptown Vol Fire Department Inc. would like to extend an invitation to join us on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 1-4PM for the housing of our new Engine Tanker 14. There will be light food and refreshments served. There will also be fire truck rides as well as a smoke house provided by Willards Volunteer Fire Co. for the kids. The Sharptown Fire Prevention Queens will be passing out goodie bags for the children as well. Again, we extend this invitation to you in hopes that you will be able to join us. Without your continued support though the years, we would not be where we are today.

Chicken House Fire on Laurel Rd

On the morning of Sunday, July 16, Sharptown Fire Department, along with Mardela Fire Dept., Laurel Fire Dept., and Eldorado Fire Dept., were alerted for a Chicken House on fire on Laurel Rd. Firefighters arrived to find a Chicken House with fire coming out of the peak. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and then checked throughout the chicken house for any extension. Firefighters were on scene for approximately 2 Hours.
