The Sharptown Fire Department Board of Trustees are currently seeking bid proposals for the upkeep and lawncare for the Sharptown Fireman’s Cemetery located at 12200 Laurel Rd. Sharptown, MD 21861.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Mow, trim and remove weeds from around all monuments and structures.
Removal of trash from the grounds and empty designated receptacles on the grounds
Trim and remove any fallen or dead limbs from trees on the property as needed
Cemetery must be attended to within 3 days prior to the following dates:
March 31st – Easter Sunday
May 27th – Memorial Day
July 4th – Independence Day
May 12th – Mother’s Day
June 16th – Father’s Day
November 11th – Veteran’s Day
We ask that the cemetery be mowed and trimmed every 2 weeks, weather dependent with the understanding that in extremely dry conditions it will not be necessary to follow a strict schedule. The Sharptown Fire Department Board of Trustees reserves the right to notify you of the necessity to attend to the cemetery with 5 day’s notice in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
We also ask that no herbicide or weed killer be utilized on the grounds unless approved for extreme circumstance.
The 2024 contract will extend from March 15, 2024 to March 14, 2025
Bids are to be submitted via email by March 1, 2024.
Notification will be made of contract award via phone call on March 11, 2024. Unsuccessful bidders will be notified via email within 7 days. The Board of Trustees reserve the right to refuse any and all bids submitted. Proof of insurance must be submitted as part of the bid proposal.
