On January 24th, just after 10PM, Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown Fire Dept. of an accident with rollover on Old Sharptown Rd. Fire and EMS crews arrived to find a vehicle into a pole and the occupant out of the vehicle. Old Sharptown Rd. was closed off during the incident.
On January 17th, just before 8AM, Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown Fire Dept. to assist Mardela Fire Dept. with an incident involving multiple accidents on the Vienna Bridge. Our crews arrived to the bridge and assisted with patient care and transferred the patient to the ambulance to be transported to the hospital.
On October 9th, just before 5:30PM,Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown Fire Dept. of a accident with rollover on Norris Twilley Rd. Firefighters and EMS arrived to find a single vehicle on its roof, with the occupant out of the vehicle. On September 21, at 1344, Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown Fire Department to assist Eldorado with a unknown type fire on Cokesbury Rd. Firefighters arrived to find an outside fire with boats, tires and other debris burning. Units from Eldorado, Hurlock, Sharptown, Seaford, and Federalsburg were on scene.
Just after 5PM, Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown to assist with a water rescue in Cambridge in the Choptank River. Squad 14 with 5 divers onboard along with Utility 14 pulling Marine 14 responded. Crews were on scene for approximately 2 hours before returning to service.
On August 21st at approx. 9:30pm Sharptown was alerted for a accident with injuries at the intersection of Main St and the Bypass. Firefighters and EMS arrived on scene of a 2 vehicle accident. The intersection was shut down during the incident and traffic had to be diverted. Three patients were transported to the hospital.
On August 9th, while Station 71 Blades was standing by for the Carnival, a severe thunder and lighting storm came through the area. Laurel, Sharptown and Delmar Fire Departments were alerted for a house fire on Shockley Rd. Captain T. Bowden arrived on scene with Utility 14 and advised heavy smoke coming from the house. […]
On May 26 and June 2, members of the Sharptown Fire Department participated in some diving exercises.
On May 19th, 2013, firefighters from Sharptown performed a controlled burn on a house in San Domingo.
